LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Food for thought on student schedules
As my grandmother used to say, “just some food for thought.”
Lynn White was my first mentor. He was an excellent principal and a wise leader. He always reminded his teachers that “the student is the most important person on the campus” and all decisions should reflect that.
If the recent decision by our Stanly County school board to make Fridays a remote learning day (no students on campus) was made because it was in the student’s best interest, that’s understandable.
If it was made for any other reason, it is a sad day for our students and their families.
The student should always be “the most important person on the campus” and all decisions start and stop with the student in mind.
