Three individuals arrested in theft of ATVs, trailers

After detectives with the sheriff office’s Criminal Investigation Division began receiving reports of numerous ATV thefts throughout the county last month, law enforcement recently arrested three individuals.

After an extensive investigation Jeremy Steven Shaver was arrested Jan. 14 at a hotel in Concord. Shaver, 25, was charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, larceny of a motor vehicle, altering serial numbers and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Shaver is being held under no bond in the Stanly County Detention Center.

Jake Dalton Coe and Gregory Travis Houston were also charged in connection with the thefts.

Coe was arrested Jan. 19 and charged with three counts of larceny of a motor vehicle and altering serial numbers and was held under a $25,000 bond in the Stanly County Detention Center.

Houston was also arrested Jan. 19 in Cabarrus County and charged with two counts of larceny of a motor vehicle and was held under a $6,000 bond in the Stanly County Detention Center.

Both men have since been released on bond.

The recovered property, ATVs and two trailers totaled $20,000.

Their next court data is Jan. 25.
