Movie Night

Oct. 15: Movie Night was rescheduled to Friday with “Beauty & the Beast” (2017). Join in the pre-show activities, with the movie to follow at sunset. Mission Church will provide free dinner.

Locust Family Movie Nights are free, family-friendly events open to the public.
Movies are shown on a large inflatable screen in the back yard of Locust City Hall.

All movies start at sundown, so not all start times are the same.

Benefit

There will be a benefit for Travis Hathcock 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday. Barbecue plates will be $10 and be picked up at The Blind Man Inc., 106 Big Lick Road, Stanfield. Come out enjoy barbecue and help out a member of our community.

Medicine Take Back

A Drive-thru Take Back Day will be at Locust Presbyterian Oct. 23. This is for anyone wanting to get rid of expired or unused prescription and over the counter drugs.

This is the safe way to dispose of these items and you do not even have to get out of your vehicle. The event is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at 607 W. Main St., Locust.

Trunk or Treat

Locust Presbyterian Church will have a Trunk or Treat 4-6 p.m. Oct. 30.

Fall Fest

Come join in the fun Oct. 31 at the Locust Parks & Rec ball fields for the Fall Festival. Fun begins at 6 p.m. and goes until 8 p.m. There will be games, candy, inflatables, hay rides and hot dogs.

This event is put together by area churches, City of Locust and area businesses as a free family event.

As a part of the fall fest you can join in showing appreciation to frontline workers who have given so much battling this pandemic head on by helping put together care packages for them. Items being collected are appropriate adult coloring books and coloring supplies, puzzles and travel size games, candy (chocolate), gum, cards handmade crafts, lotion and gift cards.

All collections can be brought to First Baptist Church of Locust at 320 S. Central Ave. 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday to Friday or to the Locust Fall Festival day of event.

Youth Basketball

Registration for youth basketball ends Oct 20. This is for boys and girls K-5 grades. All registration and information is on line at locustnc.website. sportssignup.com/
